BETA THETA PI - VICE PRESIDENT OF MEMBER EDUCATION
Founded at nine o'clock on the evening of the eighth day of the eighth month of the year 1839 at Miami University, Beta Theta Pi is one of the nation's oldest and most revered greek fraternities. Since its founding Beta, as it is often known, has set a number of greek firsts including being first to publish a public constitution, first to adopt a minimum GPA of 2.8, and first to establish a chapter west of the Mississippi River. In 2011 Beta continued its long standing tradition of expansion by founding a new colony at Chapman University where, after a multi-week selection process, I had the opportunity to become a Founding Father and member of the fraternity. Over the next four years I served in a number of roles within the chapter including Vice President of Member Education for the 2014 calendar year. During this time I developed a new curriculum for our colony that won the Outstanding New Member Education Program Award and helped us earn full chapter designation at the 175th Annual Convention in Oxford, Ohio. |
